It started while Amy was living in Tanzania and came across four dying babies in a hospital closet. She was told they were dying of AIDS, but what was clear was that they were actually dying from starvation and neglect. She knew she had to do something to help.
She started Forever Angels Baby Home which has cared for over 300 babies - reuniting 145 with relatives, and finding adoptive families for 72.
Over the years, she came to realise that many of the families we support want to care for their own children at home, they just don’t have the financial capacity to do it. Maisha Matters was born as a way to prevent child abandonment and keep babies with their families.
Forever Angels and Maisha Matters are both run by a team of dedicated, local staff.
